The special events committee works to support the chamber in the planning, promotion, and sponsorship identification for chamber signature programming including the black elected officials’ reception, the annual awards program, chamber summits, and corporate programming. Click here to sign up.
The Government Affairs committee promotes pro-business legislation and advocates on behalf of issues of concern to the African American community within the Greater Austin region. This committee works to provide remarks, testimony and opposes legislation which threatens a healthy business climate and quality of life at both state and local levels. Click here to sign up.
The International Affairs committee is focused on developing programming and conducting outreach to Afro-decent communities and Afro-diaspora organizations within the Greater Austin region to support the chamber’s international programming and to encourage the involvement and participation of international communities within the Chamber’s efforts. The Entrepreneurship and Business Development committee works to share ideas and best practice strategies to help small business members operate more efficiently and profitably. The GABC Collegiate Chapter was developed with the mission to utilize students’ talents, efforts, and experiences, to increase membership, business acumen, and involvement within the African American and Greater Austin business community. GABC encourages students pursuing higher education in Austin, and surrounding areas, to engage in ways to enhance our local economy and gain exposure to business and entrepreneurship.
