The Austin Involved Board Internship Program cultivates the next generation of philanthropists, board members and community leaders for Central Texas. Our nonprofits need diverse and informed community leaders to steward their missions. Produced in partnership with Austin Community College Center Center for Nonprofit Studies, Austin Young Chamber, Impact Austin, Mission Capital, and The New Philanthropists, the program creates civic leaders who are immediately prepared to serve our community by connecting local professionals with Austin area nonprofits in need of well-prepared board members. Participants leave the program ready to commit their time and leadership skills to a cause they are passionate about.
The Board Internship program consists of two levels of learning: classroom instruction focused on the application of best-practices in a nonprofit board setting, and practical learning with current nonprofit staff and board members. During the sessions, participants will hear from nonprofit experts who give a real-world context to the material.
