  • Temporary Student Solutions Project Support

    The Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) has been promoting educational excellence for all Texas schoolchildren since 1949.     We currently have an opening for an experienced Temporary Student Solutions Project Support  person to work in a fast-paced Student Solutions department, to be responsible for providing information through the collection, analysis, and interpretation of processes, procedures, and data aligned to projects in special populations areas. The length of this temporary assignment is anticipated to last 6 months, with the potential to extend. 

     Responsibilities

    • Gather data aligned to assigned project which may include district, campus, and student level documentation.
    • Research and develop educational content including whitepapers, presentations, FAQs, tip sheets, blog articles, infographics, and other resources on a variety of educational topics.
    • Analyze, evaluate, and compile data in areas as assigned.  This includes conducting literature reviews and summarizing findings.
    • Acquire data from primary and secondary sources and enter information into databases related to students with disabilities and their needs aligned to IEP services and supports.
    • Convert data and findings into understandable tables, graphs, and written reports.
    • Work with subject matter experts and other contributors to complete assigned projects.
    • Assist with drafting, designing and/or processing correspondence, handouts, and visual aids. Provide marketing support to the department.
    • Display a considerable degree of initiative, use mature judgment, and maintain a calm, friendly and efficient manner when dealing with staff, customers, and colleagues.
    • Proofread content created by subject matter experts and edit for clarity.

     Skills

    • Ability to use software such as Excel, Word, Outlook, and Power Point to develop spreadsheets, perform data analysis, and do word processing.
    • General understanding and knowledge of special education, section 504, English learner, and/or gifted and talented programs, processes, and best practices.
    • Excellent writer with the ability to research and analyze complex information and clearly and concisely summarize it into content that can be easily consumed.
    • Ability to handle a large volume of work and effectively and consistently meet deadlines with minimal supervision.

     Requirements:

    • Bachelor or higher degree in education or related field required.
    • Texas Teacher Certification preferred.
    • Texas Special Education Teacher Certification preferred.
    • At least three years of experience in education or related field preferred.
    • Knowledge of research and/or special populations programs preferred.
    • Ability to work on sporadic basis as support will be based on project needs required.
