    WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
    The Specialist, Safety reports to the Manager, Safety Management System (SMS) and Occupational Health & Safety to ensure safety assurance, compliance, and adherence to regulatory requirements by monitoring internal policies and procedures; state and federal regulations; and advising Safety Management on needed actions for Capital Metro (CapMetro).
    WHAT YOU BRING
    •Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Project Management, Business Administration, or other related field.
    •Five (5) years’ work experience in safety, project management, or transportation administration.
    •Must possess a valid driver license.
    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    Working knowledge CFR 673 and Safety Management Systems a plus.
    Maintain knowledge of current and emerging issues and trends in area of regulatory compliance.
    Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and EHS data management software.
    Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
    Ability to work independently, self-starter, and motivator.
    Willingness to be flexible with time and adjust to a changing work environment.
    Ability to build and maintain positive relationships, both internally and externally.
    Ability to use sound judgement and discretion in dealing with highly confidential information.
    Consistent attendance.
    Demonstrated ability to accurately prioritize work, be detail-oriented, understand when urgency is required and use good judgment in varied situations.
    Strong organizational skills.
    Strong oral and written communication skills.
    Risk assessment and problem-solving skills.
