  • Program/Project Manager III - Rail Infrastructure & Stations

    WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
    Capital Metro’s is currently seeking a Program/Project Manager to join Capital Projects Team Group. Capital Projects Group of ‘Facilities Management & Capital Construction’ department is responsible for the project management of environmental tasks, engineering design, and construction of transit infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing project management for design and construction projects mainly related to rail stations and other rail infrastructure, adherence to the short and long-term agency plan, participation in preparing annual capital budgets, operating budgets, managing professional services contracts and construction contracts, oversight of environmental & design consultants, construction contractors, design/build (d/b) or CMAR teams, coordination with internal and external stakeholders, coordination with the jurisdictional authorities for permitting and overall communication.

    WHAT YOU BRING
    •Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with at least 10+ years of project management experience on stations and rail infrastructure design and construction projects OR
    •Additional related experience may substitute for degree on a year for year basis up to four years
    •Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) or a Professional Engineering License (PE) will be preferred. The candidates who do not have a PMP certification or a PE license should have an ability to obtain such certification/license within one year of employment.



    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
    •Knowledge of project management practices for managing cost, schedule, and quality.
    •Technical knowledge of stations and rail infrastructure design and construction in an environment of continued rail operations
    •Familiarity with FRA and FTA regulations for design and construction projects
    •Familiarity with the standard and technical specifications and design criteria for rail infrastructure
    •Knowledge of construction management practices, and maintenance of rail infrastructure
    •Familiarity with various project delivery methods 
    •Be self-motivated and seek opportunities for continuous improvement of skills and processes.  
    •Ability to work in a team environment in a matrix organization, partnering well with other employees, management, users, business areas, vendors, contractors and undertake duties and tasks as assigned from time to time
    •Ability to be a positive and constructive contributor in a team-based environment
    •Knowledge of the Project Management Institute PMBOK for standard project management methodologies and processes
    •Proficiency using Microsoft Project to develop a project schedule, assign resources to tasks, track progress, and analyze workloads.
    •Excellent attention to detail.
    •Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite.

    This position is designated as a “stationed” position. Stationed positions are positions in which work is performed predominantly on site at CapMetro facilities or in the field; positions that must be in the office to access specific equipment; or are roles that must be accessible to others. Employees in stationed positions are assigned individual workspace and are expected to generally work in the office 4 days a week. CapMetro is in the early stages of mobility planning and the mobility status of this position could be subject to change.
