    WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

    CapMetro is looking for a flexible,creative and patient listener who can develop, coordinate, and manage all operational training for new and current employees to maintain company standards for operating equipment, providing customer service, and regulations adherence.

     

    WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

    Note: The duties and primary responsibilities below are intended to describe the general content of and requirements of this job and are not intended to be an exhaustive statement of duties. 

    • Conduct new operator and driver training programs.
    • Schedule training sessions for other qualified staff on refresher or certification.
    • Develop and prepares training courses and lesson plans and conducts both classroom and in-vehicle bus operation instruction.
    • Conduct technical, compliance, and mandatory training courses. Design and administer obstacle courses to trainees. Observe, evaluate, and instruct drivers on obstacle course.
    • Coordinate and conduct Commercial Driver's License (CDL) training. Requalify operators in refresher and remedial (accident) training.
    • Instruct and qualify operators on new routes, route changes and new, modified, or emergency equipment.
    • Conduct student/employee evaluations according to performance standards. Recommend progressive actions for student operators and mechanics to include dismissal or disqualification. Deliver progressive coaching.
    • Evaluate operating lines for hazardous conditions. Evaluate students' progress under the Line Platform Instructors for Passenger training phase.
    • Mentor employees post-training and monitor their work to address potential issues. Review driver performance for adherence to standards.
    • Qualify maintenance employees in operation of buses, CDL, and other industrial systems/equipment.
    • Support Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s Safety Management Systems (SMS) process by following safety and security policies, considering safety in every action, and reporting safety and security concerns.
    • Perform other duties as required.

     

    WHAT YOU BRING

    • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business, or related field. Related experience may be substituted for a degree on a year for year basis up to four years.
    • Three years' experience delivering training programs, curriculum, and classes for a medium or large organization.
    • Three years' experience in transit environment with one year of supervisory or lead experience

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Knowledge of authority operations; safety, labor and transit regulations; and training principles and practices.
    • Ability to work a varied work schedule, sometimes with minimal notice.
    • Ability to manage inter-departmental projects, supervise employees, develop curriculum and training materials.
    • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse population.
